This quarter at internship I primarily worked on my LTI project and the captions she wanted me to put in. My LTI Project was the Autumn lights festival what I did was put together the best moments from the festival and turn it into a video which took several months. This project was meaningful because I got to work on this independently and the main feedback I received was from the client. Something I did well when playing it was get it done by certain deadlines without much of a problem. But when planning for next time I could study the footage some more to make it twice as good. Overall I learned how to work on a video and receive feedback from a person I was working with.
Some of the most challenging parts of internship and my LTI project have been knowing when to ask question, getting started working on the project because I was unsure what to do with the footage at fist, and getting board in the middle of day. I was able to over come these obstacles by looking up questions I had, having a vision for the video I wanted to make, and taking more breaks then getting back to work. I do feel like I have grown at my internship because I expanded my knowledge of video making while getting to learn first hand from an experienced person.
Overall this was something knew I experienced this go-round with internship I did feel like I did have a better relationship with my mentor this year than past ones because of her kindness and willingness to let me try new things as time went on throughout the year. Some of the qualities that I really liked about my mentor was her strictness with the way she wanted the videos to be done. Some feedback/advise my mentor gave to me was to always be organized and to label all my clips this will stick with me because I see the way it has worked for my mentor and her success with being organized.
This internship did not really change my plans for the future because I don’t see myself going into field like this because it is very hard to get started and established as an editor. Some thoughts for an 11th grade internship have been mainly a science because I want to do something new I would love to find another editing internship but there are not that many good ones like the one at community bridge video. Something that could be improve the LTI check ins could be getting them established earlier.
